HISTORYHistory

  • This row of trees was originally planted by the Makino Town Fruit Producers Association in 56 as part of the "Learning from Makino Soil" school farm development project, but was lovingly nurtured by local people, including association members, and later the prefectural road was planted in cooperation with others, and the length was extended, resulting in the majestic appearance we see today. Metasequoia is a deciduous tall tree of the cypress family native to China, and its Japanese name is Akebonosugi. It was named meta (deformed) sequoia because of its resemblance to the sequoia, which is said to reach a maximum height of about 115m.
