Makino Highlands・Makino Highlands Campsite
Located at the foot of Mt. Akasaka, Makino Kogen can be enjoyed all year round, with white slopes in winter and a carpet of green in spring and autumn. There are also many surrounding facilities such as the Makino Forest Sports Center, the Makino Pickland Agricultural Park, and the Makino Kogen Minshuku Village, making it an ideal base for school trips and sports training camps. In addition to camping on the plateau, there is a campsite in the adjacent oak forest that can accommodate about 100 groups. You can enjoy playing in the water and catching fish in the beautiful stone-built Yokitogi River that runs through the site. It is also the starting point of the climbing route to Mt. Akasaka, which has been selected as one of the 10 famous flower mountains (Yama to Keikokusha), so you can enjoy climbing and hiking, and it is also perfect for forest bathing. You can also enjoy sports such as the plateau tennis courts and rental bicycles, and it is close by, about XNUMX minutes by car to Makino Sunny Peach on the shore of Lake Biwa, so there is so much nature that you can't play in it all in one day. After working out outdoors, refresh yourself at the adjacent Makino Kogen Onsen "Sarasa."
