Shimizuyama Castle is located in what is now Kumanomoto and Yasuigawa in Shinasahi-cho, Takashima City.Shimizuyama Castle is an important site for viewing castles from the Warring States period, and the Shimizuyama Castle Ruins and Shimizuyama Ruins are both located here.(Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the grounds)Hondodani Ruins(Daihoji Temple and the grounds)The area is the Shimizuyama Castle ruins.(Shimizuyama Castle ruins)It was designated as a national historic site on February 16, 2. It is said to have been the castle of the Sasaki Etchu clan, the head of the Nishi Sasaki clan. The area around Shimizuyama Castle is thought to have spread north and south along the Nishi Omi Road, which is connected to the presumed Ote Road.
*There are no toilets on the historic site, so please use other public facilities, such as those within Shin-Asahi Forest Sports Park.

About a 15-minute walk from JR Shin-Asahi Station, you will arrive at Shin-Asahi Forest Sports Park, and a further 30-minute walk will take you to Shimizuyama Castle Main Wall.
