The deities enshrined here are Susanoo-no-Mikoto, Hioki-sukune-no-Mikoto, Inadahimeni-no-Mikoto, Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto, Amenokushibi-no-Mikoto, and Okuninushi-no-Mikoto. The shrine was originally called Hiokiyamaiwatsurugi-daimyojin and is associated with the god of rock swords, making it a historic shrine. The current shrine building was rebuilt during the Edo period. Misha Shrine is home to Konpira-sha, Hachiman-gu, Nishi-gu, Tenman-gu, and Yama-jinja.Every year on the third Sunday of AprilThe Kawakami Festival (also known as the Sanyare Festival), which has been designated an intangible folk cultural property of Shiga Prefecture, is held on this day.
