Yoshida Sake Brewery, local sake brewery "Takeshima"
Our sake brewery is located on the northwest shore of Lake Biwa. There is a lot of snow in the winter, sometimes exceeding one meter, so in terms of climate it would be better to think of it as part of the Hokuriku region rather than the northern part of Kansai. Since ancient times, it has flourished as a port town that transported rice, seafood and other Hokuriku goods to the Keihanshin region using Lake Biwa, and had dozens of round boats. Since then, it has been loved by many people, including merchants, boatmen, laborers and fishermen who supported Kaizu's economic activity, and even today, our brand "Takeshima" accounts for the majority of the sake market share in Makino Town, and is extremely popular among local sake lovers. We continue to operate as a local sake brewery that is literally "made locally and consumed locally."
