Regarding use of photos

The terraced rice fields spread out in a geometric pattern over an area of 15.4 hectares in the Hata district of Takashima City, without resisting the slope. Hata village borders Kuki, and houses are scattered around as if they are being watched over by the rice terraces that spread out like a mortar on the mountainside at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters. It is said that in the past, the rice terraces extended all the way up to the mountaintop, turning the quiet mountain village into a golden color in the autumn when the harvest came. The rice terraces play a major role in maintaining the ecosystem, and in addition to efforts to maintain and conserve them, they are also highly regarded as a scenic "original Japanese landscape." In 11, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries designated this area as one of 134 areas nationwide and the only one in Shiga Prefecture to be included in the "1 Best Rice Terraces of Japan." Even today, the rice terrace owner system and other exchange programs with urban areas are actively being carried out to preserve the rice terraces.
