In a corner just before Haginohama Beach, there is a 3m tall stone monument called Shikou Sakura. This is a memorial monument erected to mourn the deaths of members of the rowing club of the former Fourth High School (now Kanazawa University) who died in a shipwreck off the coast of Haginohama on April 16, 4.
