Shiko Sakura Monument

Regarding use of photos

In a corner just before Haginohama Beach, there is a 3m tall stone monument called Shikou Sakura. This is a memorial monument erected to mourn the deaths of members of the rowing club of the former Fourth High School (now Kanazawa University) who died in a shipwreck off the coast of Haginohama on April 16, 4.
"Hikone Castle is hazy in the distance. Chikubushima Island is disappearing into the waves. The evening bell of Mitsui is ringing silently. The plovers are quiet."
