*Please note that advance reservations for rentals from Makino Station will not be accepted from Saturday, November 15, 2025 to Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
*During the cherry blossom season in Kaizu-Osaki, passengers will not be able to leave their buses at Makino Station or other stations. This applies from Saturday, March 20th to Monday, April 20th, 2026.

About Reservations
  • *Reservations are only accepted online. Please make your reservation via the link below.
    *Cancellation fees: 100% cancellation fee will be charged from the day of the reservation (if no notice is given by the start time of use).
    　If you wish to cancel, please contact us by email or phone (0740-33-7101).
    *If you do not arrive by your reserved time, your reservation may be canceled after a certain period of time has elapsed.
    　If there are any changes to your reservation time, please contact us in advance.
    *If you wish to use a regular bicycle or cross bike for consecutive days, please write "x nights x days preferred" in the comments section.
  • *[Individual Reservations]
    ■Reservations can be made for one vehicle or more. Accepted up to three days in advance.
    ■Cross bikes can only depart from in front of Shin-Asahi Station (can be dropped off at other stations)
    ■ e-bikes can only be picked up and returned from Shin-Asahi Station (no drop-offs allowed)
  • * [Group reservations]
    ■For 5 or more units, reservations must be made 7 days in advance.
    ■Available at all counters (some periods are not eligible)
    ■The maximum number of bikes that can be reserved is approximately 20 regular bikes, 3 cross bikes, and 6 e-bikes.
  • *Regarding reservation requests
    For reservations of 5 or more units, the reservation will be considered a "reservation request" and will be confirmed after the details are reviewed by the management team.
    Please allow approximately 3 business days for a response.
    Please note that processing times may be longer than usual if your order falls on a weekend, public holiday, during peak season, or due to temporary closures.
    We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Notes on using rental bicycles
  • Please agree to the bicycle rental agreement before using the service.Bicycle rental agreement
  • Please present identification (such as a driver's license) when renting.
  • Bicycle rental hours are limited to 9:00-17:00. For safety reasons, please refrain from using the bicycles at night. Please also observe these hours when renting for more than two days.
  • Please follow traffic rules and ride safely. (Please refrain from riding with another person, carrying an umbrella, drinking and driving, etc.)
  • Use is limited to Takashima City. Please refrain from taking it outside the city.

    ☆Rent a bicycle around Lake BiwaNPO Five-Way Life (Maibara City)　Biwaichi Bike (Otsu City)is available for you to purchase online.
  • Please note that rental may not be available due to weather conditions.
  • Rental will be suspended when warnings are issued (other than for high tides and high waves).
  • Be sure to lock your bicycle when you leave it.
  • We do not have bicycles specifically for children. Also, we do not have any bicycles that are designed for carrying children.
  • In the unlikely event of damage, we may charge you for the repairs.
  • The Road Traffic Act requires that people of all ages wear helmets. The Lake Biwa Takashima Tourist Association recommends wearing a helmet.
