    The Lake Biwa Circumnavigation Song, an emotional song about impressionable youth and the romance of circumnavigation, is a classic song beloved by the nation. The song was born in Imazu-cho, Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. The song was written in 6 by students from the water club of the former Third High School in Kyoto (now the Kyoto University Rowing Club) while they were sailing around Lake Biwa on a boat. The Lake Biwa Circumnavigation Song Museum has a comprehensive display of materials related to the lyricist and composer, as well as a listening corner where you can listen to the Lake Biwa Circumnavigation Song by many singers and musicians.

Makino Pickland

    Makino Pick-Land is an agricultural park where you can enjoy picking seasonal fruits. It is made up of three main zones.
    Orchard Zone: Experience picking seasonal fruits, from early summer cherries (which are rare in the Kansai region) to blueberries, grapes, chestnuts, sweet potatoes, and apples.
    Roadside Landscape Zone: The metasequoia-lined street that runs straight through the orchards has been selected by the Yomiuri Shimbun as one of the "New 100 Beautiful Roadside Trees of Japan," and attracts visitors all year round.
    ○Park Zone: The park is centered around the center house, which manages the entire facility, and features cafes, restaurants, a grassy area, and a ground golf course, making it a fun place for people of all ages.
