Oda Nobunaga narrowly escapes danger "Nobunaga's Overcoming of Kutsuki"
Oda Nobunaga was on his way to unifying the country, but was killed in the Honnoji Incident before he could achieve his goal. During the Tensho era, Nobunaga, who boasted of being the strongest, faced the greatest crisis on his journey: the Genki Disturbance. On April 20, 1570 (the first year of the Genki era), when Oda Nobunaga attacked Asakura, Azai Nagamasa, who had been allied with Oda Nobunaga, defected and joined the Asakura side, it began. Caught between the Asakura clan to the north and the Azai clan to the north of the lake, the Oda forces entered Omi via the Tango Highway, and fled back to Kyoto via the Kutsuki Highway from Hosaka (Imazu Town). It is said that along the way, Nobunaga stayed at Kutsuki Castle (later known as Kutsuki Jin'ya) with the help of Kutsuki Motoami, the lord of Kutsuki. Take a leisurely stroll around the area known as "Nobunaga's Crossing of Kutsuki."
