Touring Takeo Island

  To get to the power spot "Chikubushima" floating on Lake Biwa, there is a round trip ferry route from Imazu Port and a crossing route to Nagahama Port. The crossing route takes about 20 minutes one way, and you can enjoy a stroll on the island for about 70 minutes on land.

  A restaurant specializing in eel and river fish dishes. The restaurant is proud of its Kansai-style grilled eel, which is fragrantly grilled over charcoal using a sauce that has been handed down for many years. Eel chazuke and Omi tsukudani (food preserved in soy sauce) made with sweetfish, shrimp, and gourd are also popular souvenirs.

Lake Biwa Voyage Song Museum

  "I am a wandering child of the sea~♪" The "Song of the Voyage Around Lake Biwa," an emotional song about impressionable youth and the romance of circumnavigating Lake Biwa, was born in Omi-Imazu. Inside the museum, there are exhibits related to the lyricist and composer, as well as a listening corner where you can listen to the song by many singers and musicians.
