There are four roadside stations in Takashima City.
Fujiki no Sato Adogawa is located along the main road, National Route 161, and Makino Oizaka Pass is at the northern entrance.
There is also Kutsuki Shinhonjin along the Saba Kaido road, which is named after the mackerel that were transported from Wakasa to the capital, Kyoto.
Please stop by when you visit Kosai.

We operate as a facility that many tourists can enjoy, focusing on Takashima City tourist information and selling local specialties, and also offering a workshop where you can experience making fans, a local industry. We also have restaurants (Azumigawa Kitchen, Azumigawa Grill), a convenience store, and an information corner and rest facility. Please stop by when you are in Kosai. Relax your mind and body with a detour...

This roadside station is located in the Makino area of Takashima City, a tourist resort full of nature, with the cherry blossoms of Kaizu Osaki in spring, camping and swimming at Sunny Beach in summer, hiking in autumn, hot springs and skiing in winter, and the Metasequoia Avenue, a popular tourist spot all year round. If you head south from Fukui on National Route 1, you will find this roadside station at a pass where you can see Lake Biwa for the first time. Relax in this quiet pass surrounded by mountains. We are proud of our fresh locally grown vegetables, specialty products, rice flour bread, and freshly made authentic soba noodles.

Kutsuki Shinhonjin was built in 1987 as a modern restoration of the former lord's camp, the Kutsuki clan. It was designated a "roadside station" in 1993, and the morning market it holds every Sunday is popular, drawing repeat visitors and many tourists.
[Saba Kaido Community Center]
It was built next to the Kutsuki Shinhonjin Roadside Station in the fall of 1999. It houses offices, a restaurant, meeting rooms, a free rest area, and more.

This roadside station has parking (196 spaces for small cars, 11 spaces for large cars, 6 spaces for disabled people, etc.) and toilets (with disabled access). It is located along the lakeside road (Prefectural Route 333) in the Shin-Asahi area of Takashima City, so please feel free to use it when driving around the shores of Lake Biwa. In the northern area, there is also a glamping facility called "STAGEX Takashima," where you can stay in glamping cabins and tents, have a BBQ in a vast area, and enjoy a high-quality outdoor experience on the shores of Lake Biwa with a bicycle cafe.
